levels and change in hospital and emergency room utilization that corresponds
with the ROI claim.

for prescription medications under various scenarios, in terms of
copay waivers and members targeted.
The model uses evidence-based algorithms of pharmaceutical
price elasticity to calculate the compliance increase from pharmacy
copay waivers and medication efficacy from randomized controlled
trials to determine the corresponding reduction in hospital and
emergency room visits.

is designed for plan sponsors who are considering a value-based insurance
design (VBID) for prescription medications and want a basic understanding
of the key cost and savings drivers. It allows for input of varying
copay waivers and provides the medical savings for each $1.00 of
copay waived at alternative rates of hospitalization and expenditure.
